Sunday morning service, Our prayer is that in these perilous times the Lord will send forth revival and
waken the bride of Christ out of slumber and into repentance. Discerning the times we are in we believe the
Lord will be calling His children home soon. Our prayer is that our eyes will be opened and that we may
cleansed from present and active sin, being presented blameless:
Now unto him that is able to keep you
from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy
Jude 24

According to biblical scholars the book of Romans is considered the most important piece of literature ever to
be written. Taking on the task of teaching this profound book verse by verse is a worthy and most difficult
task indeed, not to be taken lightly. To bring the doctrinal truths found in the book of Romans into the light
of understanding is to bring the scriptures and God's plan for man into knowledge and awareness; identifying
the believer with Christ.

Below is a basic outline of the book of Romans that will assist the reader into a basic understanding of
Paul's intentions. Upon reading the outline you can see the divine placement of each Holy Spirit inspired
chapter that directed Paul's writing of this epistle.

  • All the world is found guilty. The entire world has been weighed on the scales and found wanting. We
stand guilty before the Lord in His righteous court. (Romans 3:9-20; 3:23)
  • Justification. Believer's are justified by Gods righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ; the gospel
remedy for the guiltiness of sin. (Romans 3:21-5:11)
  • We died with Christ - "crucified with Christ". Positionally believer's are identified with Christ in our union
with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection, to walk in newness of the resurrection life in Christ
    Jesus. (Romans 6)
  • We died to the Law. The believer is dead to the law by identification in death with Christ and now
joined in a real union with the Risen Christ. (Romans 7:1-6)
  • The struggle of the two natures. There comes a time of discovery in every believer; the discovery of self
and indwelling sin. There is a conflict of spirit and flesh, of the new divine nature and the Adamic
nature in which the believer is helpless against. (Romans 7:7-24)
  • Victory by the Spirit. Indwelt by the “Spirit of Life,” victory is found through the believer's identification
and union with Christ. Believer's are IN Christ and the gospel provision is the indwelling Holy Spirit as
the power and remedy over inherent and lndwelling sin (Romans 7:25-8:13).
  • Results in the blessings of the gospel Receiving the Spirit of adoption as sons and heirs of God, being
partakers of the blessed hope of our salvation that all creation waits to be delivered into glory, being
predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ, having Christ and the Holy Spirit as our intercessor,
all things working for God’s perfect will, experiencing the security of Gods inseparable love (Romans 8:
    14-39).
  • Under the dispensation of the gospel of Grace the covenant promises to Israel are not abolished neither
are they replaced. The church is not Israel, the church has not replaced Israel and Israel is not the
church. The scriptures make a clear distinction between the church and Israel (Romans 9:1-11:36).
  • A call to service. The Christian life and service. It is worthy to note the progressive stages of the
believer found in the book of Romans. First God 1)brings the sinner to an understanding of guilt and
position of an object of His wrath to a 2) justified position through God's grace and righteousness
through faith in Christ to an 3)understanding of positional identity IN Christ (union with Christ) 4) to
discovery of self and utter sinfulness 5) to victory by the indwelling Holy Spirit and obedience by walking
in the Spirit by mortifying the flesh. All of this occurs in the book of Romans before the believer receives
a true call to service experiencing the true Christian life in Romans 12. First we are refined, our faith
tested and we are molded as the workmanship of God to walk in a manner worthy of His name.
  • Results of the Christian life and service. It is also noteworthy that in order for the believer to bear
noticeable fruit they must first become dead to the law according to Romans 7 verse 4. When called to
service an outflow of Christian love bearing fruitfulness is the result (Romans 16:1-27).
